Renick Millworks Achieves FSC Certification
NCIF Portfolio Company Renick Millworks received Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification for their flooring and millwork products made from salvaged lumber. The certification will allow them to sell to the green / LEED building markets.

WV Tourism Sector Boosted by NCIF Loans
West Virginia's rivers, mountains and forests offer unlimited outdoor recreation opportunities for visitors.
This year NCIF invested in two sustainable tourism businesses: Wilderness Voyageurs, which operates river rafting tours and Harman's North Fork Cottages, a family-owned and operated lodging business.

Western NC Partnership Launched
Mountain BizWorks of Asheville, North Carolina and the Natural Capital Investment Fund are working together to provide green businesses with loans up to $300,000. The two organizations announced in July they hope to support the development of enterprises that promote the sustainable use of natural resources while contributing to appropriate economic development in Western North Carolina.
